초록 Objectives: The objective of this study was to provide clinical evidence to support the use of a herbal medicine(Cheonwangbosim-Dan/Tianwangbuxin-Pellet (TWBXP)) for insomnia. Methods: Randomized controlled trials that verified effects of Herbal Medicine(Cheonwangbosim- Dan, Tianwangbuxin-Pellet) treating primary insomnia were carried out.A literature search of English, Chinese, Korean databases was also performed. The selected literature were assessed by Risk of Bias (RoB). Results: The total number of selected trials was 13 RCTs.Among the 13 RCTs, 10 were meta-analyzed.The Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders-3 (CCMD-3) was frequently used as the diagnostic criteria for interventions during the analysis ofthe use of herbal medicine (Cheonwangbosim-Dan/ Tianwangbuxin-Pellet) for management of primary insomnia. As for outcome measurement, the effective rate was used. From the Meta-analysis of the studies,it was established that the insomnia cure effective rate in the TWBXP group was higher thanthat in the Western Medicine (WM) group (RR: 1.15, 95% CI: 1.07 to 1.24, p<0.0001, I2=33%).Also, the effective rate in the TWBXP+ACU group was significantly different compared to the WM group (RR: 1.32, 95% CI: 1.13 to 1.54, p=0.0004, I2=0%).The quality of the selected RCTs was low. Conclusions: Herbal medicine (Cheonwangbosim-Dan/Tianwangbuxin-Pellet) is effective for treating primary insomnia. It is worth noting that this studies were of relatively...

화병의 한의학적 치료에 대한 연구동향
초록 Objectives: To determine the general characteristics of clinical studies about Hwabyung and assess their limitations and alternatives. Methods: Clinical studies that examined the effects of traditional Korean medicine intervention on Hwabyung were included in this study.A systematic search of English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean databases was performed. The characteristics of included articles were described and those articles were assessed by Risk of Bias (RoB) tool or Risk of Bias for Nonrandomized Studies (RoBANS) tool. Results: Sixteen articles were selected from 1,826 articles. Most clinical studies about Hwabyung were published in Korea. The number of conducted trials was insufficient. The prevailing study design was randomized controlled trial.Traditional Korean medicine intervention used in the trials were acu-puncture, herbal medicine, counselling, meditation, emotional freedom technique (EFT), music ther-apy, art therapy, and multi intervention program.Herbal medicine study used placebo as control while non-pharmacological intervention study mostly used no treatment as control. Most of the trials were supported by the government. Therefore, financial conflict of interest might not exist for results. We judged that some studies had a high risk of bias.In general, most of the studies with a high risk of bias were non-pharmacological intervention studies, and the risk of bias was mainly due to lack of blinding. Conclusions:...

치매의 한열허실 변증 지표문항에 대한 예비분석
초록Objectives: The study aimed to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire for cold-heat & defi-ciency-excess pattern identification of dementia and establish a new version of the questionnaire. Methods: Mean, standard deviation, skewness, internal consistency, correlation and t-test of the 26 items derived from previous study was analyzed in 20 dementia patients. The items with Cronbach-α coefficient below 0.7 were modified. Thus, we established a new version of the questionnaire consist-ing of 20 items. Results: Cronbach-α of each cold, heat, deficiency and excess questionnaire was 0.662, −0.229, 0.722 and 0.778, respectively. The correlation coefficient between cold, heat, deficiency and excess was less than 0.4 and correlation coefficient between dementia and cold, deficiency was 0.518. On t-test, the t-value of cold, deficiency and dementia was −2.196. Conclusions: The results indicated that cold-heat, deficiency-excess questionnaires showed sat-isfactory discriminant validity. In addition, there was correlation between dementia and cold, deficiency. Finally, we established a new version of the questionnaire for cold-heat, deficiency-excess pattern identification that consisted of 20 items.[원문 보기 클릭]
