Results: Studies were analyzed by year, format, publication site, age of patient, treatment method, follow- up study, herbal treatment, acupuncture, and limitations. Analysis confirmed that oriental medical treatment was sufficiently effective in relieving symptoms of epilepsy. Conclusions: Acupuncture and herbal medicine could be considered to relieve symptoms of epilepsy. However, due to some limitations in those studies, more in-depth and broader research is needed in the future.[원문 보기 클릭]

Objectives: This study examines the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) through a systematic review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI). Methods: RCTs were included that tested the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang on BPPV. A study of the literature in the CNKI was performed for papers published from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2021. Results: A total of eight RCTs met the inclusion criteria. All studies identified the effect of Banhabaekchulcheonma-tang in the treatment of BPPV. The effectiveness of treatment was higher in the intervention group than in the control group, as shown through evaluation indicators, including the total effective rate, dizziness handicap inventory (DHI), and blood lipids. Conclusion: Treatment with Banhabaakchulcheonma-tang was found to be effective in treating BPPV. However, due to the low quality of available studies, the significance of this conclusion is somewhat limited. Further clinical studies are needed on the development of diagnosis and treatment methods for BPPV based on Korean medicine.[원문 보기 클릭]

초록 Objectives The present study examined the recent domestic and international trends of non-surgical treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS). Methods The studies on non-surgical treatment of LSS were investigated via searching Korean web databases and PubMed. As a result, 39 studies were analyzed according to the authors, the types of study, the relationship to surgical treatment and the method of treatment. Results The first authors’ occupations were identified as 17 doctors, 12 Korean medicine doctors, six physiotherapists, three chiropractic doctors and one doctor of science. The most common type of study in Korea was the case report and most of the studies were retrospective. Overseas, there were many prospective or experimental studies including randomized controlled trials (RCT). In Korea, non-surgical treatment was performed independently of surgical treatment in most cases. Among non-surgical treatments, the most researched treatment was traditional Korean medicine (TKM), followed by injection therapy, exercise therapy, and physical therapy. Conclusions Through this review, we can determine the effectiveness of TKM and its research direction. TKM should be studied experimentally including RCT and it should be conducted not only on acupuncture, but also on other treatment methods such as acupotomy, chuna, and herbal medicine. It is also necessary to...

The purpose of this study was to provide a systematic literature review of domestic research on dialectical behavior therapy published from 2012 to 2023. A total of 15 journals and dissertations in Korea were selected for the review. As a result of reviewing the annual trends, it was found that 53.3% of the studies reported from 2021 to June 2023. Adults, including college students, accounted for 80% of the study subjects, showing the highest rate, but studies on adolescents were somewhat low at 13.3%. Most of the studies published in Korea were conducted by designing or modifying programs to verify their effectiveness, and in the most studies, studies were designed as randomized control tests. This study is meaningful in that it comprehensively analyzed domestic research on dialectical behavioral therapy, and the results are expected to be used as a basis for future research.[원문 보기 클릭]

초록 Objectives: The purpose of this study is the research of the 2D:4D ratio and its correlation with the Sasang constitution and the MBTI preference types. Methods: A measurement of the 2D:4D ratios of 101 South Korean medical students was performed, the QSCC-II and PSSC-2004 were used to diagnose the Sasang constitution, and MBTI testing was performed to classify the preference types. Results: In the relationship between the Sasang constitution and the 2D:4D ratios, a statistically significant difference is absent in the 2D:4D ratios of the group comprising both sexes in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. A statistically significant difference is also lacking in the 2D:4D ratios of the male-only group in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. The 2D:4D ratios are higher in the female group only, but again a statistically significant difference is absent. In the 2D:4D ratios according to the MBTI preference type, the 2D:4D ratios of the I, S, F, and P types are higher in the unisex group, but a significant difference is not evident. The 2D:4D ratios of the E, N, F, and P types are higher in the male-only group, but again a significant difference is not evident. In the...
